The Power of Dental Crowns
Do You Need a Reliable Restoration That Looks Completely Natural?
At Summit Point Dental Implant Center in McKinney, we are dedicated to providing superior dentistry and personalized care. Our crowns can provide many benefits, including:
Protection
In cases of severe decay, fillings can't offer the level of protection provided by a dental crown. A crown is often the best way to restore a tooth that has been significantly compromised by decay or trauma.
Durability
Dr. Sasan Khodabakhsh at Summit Point Dental primarily uses zirconia for his restorations. Zirconia has superior strength and durability, as well as excellent aesthetics.
A Natural Appearance
Our practice uses advanced 3D scanning and a variety of restoration materials, such as zirconia and porcelain, to create dental crowns that are natural-looking in both color and shape.
How Are Crowns Placed?
Do You Need to Replace
a Missing Tooth?
Implant-supported crowns are today's preferred method of replacing missing teeth. This is because implants are the only solution that also halts the deterioration of the jawbone that occurs when teeth are lost.
Dr. Khodabakhsh at Summit Point Dental Implant Center in McKinney has advanced training in dental implants and a proven track record of patient satisfaction.
Don't Wait Too Long
A tooth that has been weakened by decay or trauma is susceptible to even more damage, which could require an extraction and the additional costs associated with replacing a tooth. We offer same-day appointments at Summit Point Dental Implant Center in McKinney, TX.

Nervous About Dental Care? We Make It Easier With Sedation
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, is a light form of sedation that's administered through a nose mask. The gas helps keep dental patients calm while allowing them to stay alert during their procedure. Once the nose mask is removed, the effects wear off quickly, so patients can drive themselves home after treatment.
Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral conscious sedation is a prescription medication that's taken about an hour before a dental procedure to induce a deeper feeling of relaxation than nitrous oxide can provide. It can take many hours for the effects of oral conscious sedation to completely wear off. A trusted friend or family member will have to drive you to and from your appointment should you receive this form of sedation.
IV Sedation
Our strongest form of sedation, IV sedation is administered directly to the bloodstream. It's fast-acting and adjustable, so our team will be able to keep you perfectly comfortable throughout your procedure. Like oral conscious sedation, IV sedation has effects that can take several hours to completely subside, so someone will have to drive you home.

A Deep Dive Into Dental Implants
Dental implants are a prime choice for tooth replacement. If you're receiving dental implants as part of your dental crown treatment, you will have to complete the implant surgery before we create your crown.
In this procedure, Dr. Khodabakhsh makes an incision in the gums and places an implant in the jawbone. Once the implant fuses with the bone tissue, an abutment can be placed onto the implant. This device connects the implant to the crown. Placing the abutment requires a minor surgery that involves incising the gums. Once the gums heal, Dr. Khodabakhsh can create and place your permanent crown.

Very friendly, knowledgeable, and personable staff. Really cool scanning gear; They basically make a full 3d scan of your teeth, and you can see every little part of your teeth.
